The day length difference between summer and winter is quite large in The Netherlands. Maybe the north of Japan has also a bigger difference in day lengths. A smaller difference can be noticed here by traveling to South France or Spain.
The days are noticeably shorter here too. While, in June, I came home one night at 23:30 and I saw the last daylight, now it turns already dark around 20:00.
It is the good season for night photography. Have you seen my night butterfly report?

日本でも北の端と南の端では昼と夜の長さの
変化の大きさの違いを感じられるかもしれませんね。
夏と冬の間の日長差はオランダにおいて全く大きい。恐らく、日本の北は日長の中により大きな違いも持っています。より小さな違いは、南フランスあるいはスペインへ旅行することによりここで気づかれる場合があります。

写真みました！夜の蛾の観察会、楽しそうですね！
住宅地でも以外に大型の蛾がいるのですね。
そちらは日本よりも緯度が高いので昼と夜の長さの変化が
日本に比べて大きいんですね。
今調べてみてその事に初めて気付きました。(^^;
その時期は顕著にここでより短い(また)。今、6月に、私がある夜23:30に帰宅し、私が最後の日光を見た一方、20:00は既に暗くなります。夜間撮影によい季節です。私の夜蝶報告書を見ましたか。
